Mark Adkison is the co-founder and general manager of HearItFirst.com, an online portal for both signed and independent Christian music.

Prior to his current position, Mark was Vice President of Digital Strategy and Development at EMI Christian Music Group.  He co-founded HearItFirst.com in 1998, while working with EMI.

We talked about the history of online music marketing as well as where things are headed, how bands and musicians can be more effective online, and why marketing offline is still important and should be part of your total promotion strategy.

Jeff Walker runs the publicity, marketing, and promotion company, AristoMedia.

Growing up in Australia, Jeff witnessed how labels "broke" acts such as The Beatles through the use of film clips and video images.

In 1984, many independent and major labels working with developmental artists were beginning to shoot similar "film clips" to help garner exposure in the country genre, he saw a need for video promotion in the country format.

And that style of promotion is just one of the many things ArtistoMedia does today.

We talked about multiple media marketing formats for the music industry, including print, radio, television, and online options.
