Bruce Kulick was in the Music Business Radio studios today. He's best known as a guitarist for KISS and Grand Funk Railroad, but over the last 35 years, he's played with several other well-known acts including Michael Bolton, Billy Squier, Andrea True Connection, and George McCrae.  

We talked about connecting with Michael Bolton, touring wtih KISS, music business lessons from Gene Simmons, life on the road, playing in Union with John Corabi, the anatomy of a good song, the biggest misconceptions about rock stars, touring advice, and keeping grounded when you're playing for thousands of people per night.

Emily White is an artist manager and co-founder Whitesmith Entertainment and Readymade Records. Artists she has worked with include Brendan Benson, Dresdon Dolls, Urge Overkill, Margaret Cho, Sydney Wayser, and Gold Motel. Young Hines is an artist signed to Readymade Records.

We talked about the inportance of internships in the music business, using social media to break artists and develop relationships with fans, direct-to-fan marketing, and tips for self-releasing music. We talked about how Young was discovered and heard his music, including a live, in-studio performance as well as the unreleased demo that started it all.
