Daisy Dern and Dave Gibson of Savannah Music Group are next on Music Business Radio studios today. Both Dave and Daisy bring years of experience on both the business and artist side on running their company which includes music publishing and a record label.
Daisy came to Nashville from San Francisco in 2001 and soon landed a deal with Mercury Records. She will discuss the reality of getting and losing that "dreamed" record deal.
Dave moved to Nashville from Chicago, formed the successful “Gibson Miller Band,” and toured extensively for a few years before leaving the duo. His songwriter credits include cuts by Tanya Tucker, Alabama, and Montgomery Gentry.
The two will discuss forming (and growing) their company, from developing a business plan, to securing investors, to their unique operating strategy and stand on performance royalties. They'll also review demos sent in from Music Business Radio listeners around the world.
