Raul Malo first received widespread acclaim as the lead singer of multi-platinum, country band, the Mavericks. He was co-writer of many of their singles, as well as writer of Rick Trevino's 2003 single "In My Dreams." Since disbanding the Mavericks in the early 2000s, he's pursued a solo career.
