We took our show on the road today, to Nashville Grand Ole Opry House, to record material for a special episode on Rounder Records.  Today's interviews include Nathan Williams of Nathan Williams and the Zydeco Cha-Chas, Bela Fleck, Bill Nowlin, one of the founders of Rounder Records, and more.

Rounder Records has has a catalog of over 4000 releases that includes George Thorogood, Rush, Duran Duran, and Alison Krauss. This special episode will feature the history of the label as told by the three founders as well as Rounder artists and staff.

Rounder Records was founded in 1970 and is the third largest independent record label in the United States with over 4000 releases.  Artists on Rounder include Ralph Stanley, Wilson Pickett, George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Buckwheat Zydeco, Woody Guthrie, Irma Thomas, Steve Martin, JJ Cale, Nanci Griffith, Bela Fleck, Riders in the Sky, Rush, The Tragically Hip, Godsmack, Duran Duran, and Alison Krauss.

We talked about how Rounder was founded, how it developed into what it is, signing acts, staying power, staffing, record distribution, and more.
