The latest episode of Music Business Radio... This one features Evelyn Shriver and Susan Nadler of Bandit Records. Get it via podcast.
Evelyn was the first female president of a major label in the history of country music when she took over the helm of Asylum Records.
Susan was Executive VP/A&R at Asylum.
Though neither had ever worked at a label, their different approach to the record business resulted in two Grammy wins during their first year of business. Among their first signings at the label was the legendary George Jones.
When Asylum Records was closed by AOL Time Warner as part of its corporate consolidation, the two got together to form Bandit Records. Though George Jones could have remained with Warner Bros, he chose to leave with them.
This is just a brief history of what these two have done in the business…

Hi Evelyn, I seen you on T.V. today, when Shania Twayn was performing for her Birthday. My question is? I am a country songwriter, promoting my published songs to artists, as well as promoting a new artist, MARIE WILLSON who has a completed CD with 8 of my songs and 2 of her own. I have sent many a CD to radio stations and Marie has received a lot of airplay. She is seeking management and a record deal. If you can guide me in any way, as to promoting Marie's career, or by getting my songs to new artists, that would be greatly appreciated. TX
